What Is Greymail?
Greymail (also spelled graymail) is email you technically opted in to at some point but no longer find useful — marketing newsletters, promotional offers, social-media notifications, advertising blasts, and cold sales outreach.
It’s not malicious like spam, so traditional spam filters let it through, yet it floods your inbox and buries the messages that actually matter.
Post Guard AI solves the greymail problem by using AI to identify and categorize each message by intent — Newsletter, Promotional, Advertising, Selling a Product or Service, Spam, or Safe Email — and automatically routing unwanted greymail to folders you choose, so only the emails you care about stay in your inbox.
How It Works
Connect Securely
Use IMAP with an app password, Gmail OAuth 2.0, or Microsoft Graph OAuth 2.0. A step-by-step wizard walks you through setup, or use Quick Add if you already know what you need.
Real-Time Monitoring
IMAP IDLE push, Gmail adaptive polling (30 s–5 min), or Google Cloud Pub/Sub push notifications for near-instant delivery.
Smart HTML Stripping
HTML-heavy marketing templates are stripped to clean text using HtmlAgilityPack before classification, ensuring the AI sees actual content.
Auto-Sort & Whitelist
Each category routes to its own folder or Gmail label (defaulting to Promotions). Drag an email back to whitelist that sender’s domain automatically.

Privacy & Security You Can Trust
No training on your data: Email content read by the AI is never used to train models.
No message storage: We retain only the message ID to prevent processing the same message twice.
One-way password hashing: PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA512 with 600,000 iterations. IMAP credentials and OAuth tokens encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
Default password enforcement: On first admin login, the system requires an immediate password change.
TLS certificate validation: All IMAP connections validate server certificates in production.
Multi-factor authentication: TOTP-based MFA compatible with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy.
Password change verification: Changing your password requires entering your current password first.
OAuth 2.0 connections: Gmail and Outlook users connect with scoped tokens that auto-refresh and can be revoked anytime.
Rate limiting: Sign-in and signup endpoints are protected by per-IP rate limiters.
Database resilience: Transient failures are automatically retried with exponential backoff.
